The Wooden Spoon continues to grow, thanks to your business and support. No longer is it only a place to buy those special Scandinavian items, but it has become a cultural center. Now you can find a connection with others who feel like you do about their culture.
We offer classes in rosemaling, decorative painting, hardanger, Norwegian knitting, tatting, wood carving, how to make a folk costume, and the Scandinavian languages. Our reading room is filled with books and magazines that you have donated. Students of all ages can use this resource center and continue their studies.
Our renovation of the oldest home in Plano continues. Our long range plans include a tearoom, The Teaspoon; the restoration of the Brevik Community Chapel, the church of Gwen's childhood for a wedding chapel; the expansion of our gifts and food lines; and filling as many needs of the Scandinavian community as we can.
